In APS process, different advanced materials powders (ceramic, cermet, etc) melt at a high temperature (from 10000 to 20000K). Then the carrier gas sprays the molten material onto the surface and it rapidly solidifies. Therefore, the surface won't get that warm and no thermal stress is produced. The coating is steady and adherent, with a high quality. Now the strength of the piece against environmental deteriorations is multiplied. Supporting wide ranges of spraying and very high surface quality are other advantages. ![]() |
